ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Technical Product Development Specialist, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our Curriculum Development Specialists to create computer science curriculum that will be used in classrooms across the country. You’ll build coding projects and activities that will empower teachers to bring computer science to their classrooms and ignite ideas and learning in young minds.
This role is perfect for a junior-level programmer, CS degree-holder or coding academy graduate! The ideal candidate has solid foundational skills in computer science and programming, with a portfolio (or Github account) that showcases their work. You’re naturally curious and a self-driven learner who enjoys keeping up with the latest technology and industry trends.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Collaborate with Curriculum Development Specialists to create coding projects and activities that adhere to education standards.
Create software programs used in lessons and curriculum. This may involve using products like git, text editors, and web-based IDEs.
Support the planning of courses and content as part of the product team. Includes participation in daily standup and weekly sprint planning meetings.
Continually learn new technologies, industry trends, and best practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality content to customers.
Work with the Technical Product Manager to tackle other technical projects in the company as needed.
WHAT YOU HAVE:
Experience creating programs in languages such as Python or Java. You don’t shy away when asked to build things like hello world or a basic text-based game.
A portfolio and/or Github that showcases past projects.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Mastery of collaboration tools such as the Google Suite, Trello, and Slack.
