As the Technical Writer, you are responsible for managing and creating clear, useful product documentation for cutting-edge technology that is changing how software is managed. You are passionate about teaching others through well-written communication of technical content.
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure our users have the best customer experience in understanding software through user-facing documentation. You will be responsible for creating different types of content- how-to knowledge base articles, product release notes, enablement materials, in-app messaging, product walkthroughs, and FAQs on the product. Your role will be a key part in delivering high quality content to our customers.
What you will do:
Working with product managers, engineers, product marketing, product designers to communicate to our users how our tool works Writing clear, accurate, helpful, and well-organized “how-to” knowledge base articles and other technical documentation Work with product managers and product designers to improve the language in our application and adhere to our voice and tone guidelines Collaborate with marketing and design teams to evolve in-product messaging and instructional copy Work with product designers to help develop content for in-product walkthroughs Work with engineering and product managers to create and maintain product release notes Working product marketing to create enablement content for sales, customer success, other departments in Zylo
What you will need: 1+ years in technical writing/professional experience Recent examples of your technical writing (a writing sample for a “how to guide, preferably a software product, or a knowledge base article / user enablement content /product/configuration documentation) Experience and familiarity with using content creating tools (Office, Google Suite, CMS) Experience capturing visuals such as screenshots and marking up to support content from visual standpoint
Nice to have: You love writing, editing, and optimizing content- creating from scratch and improving existing content Strong communication and written skills Experience using videos using screen capture and screen recording tools Commitment to improving the customer experience through technical documentation Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable through written content Preferred location: Indianapolis, IN but we are open to remote candidates located in Eastern time zones
