BacklotCars (KAR Global brand) is currently seeking a talented User Experience Designer to join our team. We are an online marketplace for auto dealers and our platform is changing the way auto dealers buy and sell wholesale vehicles. As a UX Designer at BacklotCars, you will work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to assess opportunities to improve the experience of using our digital products for our dealers and internal users.
Conduct regular qualitative and quantitative user research to uncover new insights about our customers and their businesses Define user personas, journeys, and task flows Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions Design intuitive digital experiences with a mobile-first approach Create wireframes and interactive prototypes, and iterate based on user testing, stakeholder feedback, and other data Participate in regular design reviews and stakeholder meetings, always ready to communicate the ‘why’ behind your work Ask thoughtful questions, take risks, champion new ideas, and advocate for the user Remain up-to-date on industry developments, competitor experiences, accessibility standards, and emerging design patterns/techniques
What you’ll need:
2+ years of UX Design experience with a portfolio that is clear, clean, and easy to navigate Recent experience designing for native mobile experiences and/or progressive web apps Expertise in modern prototyping tools (e.g. Figma) Desire to roll up your sleeves, execute, and create order and processes within a dynamic, growing startup environment Highly collaborative attitude with a deep sense of ownership and accountability Effective communication skills and the ability to make sense of complex systems Passion for understanding people’s motivations and needs Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple small to mid-sized projects
