Indy Hackers
Holiday Social 2016
Celebrate the year with your fellow hackers over food and drink!
Please join us — a bunch of programmers, nerds, geeks, hackers — to celebrate the year with food, drink, and friends both old and new. Saturday, December 3rd, 7PM, at a location in Fishers! We will have the sixth annual Indy Hackers' Holiday Social. We welcome everyone -- Pythonistas, Javanese, COBOLians, Scalanites, PHPers, Rubyists, .NET nuts, Perlsians.... We will even have some functional programming zealots mutating their state for a few hours. The best part? It is completely free.

How is this being put together? / How can you help?
Back in 2010, a couple of us simply wanted to get together with a few of our friends, who almost all happened to be programmers. We loved the company of fellow hackers, so we decided to invite more.
The local community of software professionals in this city are amazing, and once we started to get together, people began getting more and more excited about how to make it better the next year.
This year we have a group of 7 volunteers that have led the charge from an organizational and momentum perspective. But, again, the local community is incredible, and the amount of help and support we have recieved has been breath-taking.
However, we aren't done yet...in order to make sure this is a success, we need help from the "homes of the hackers"...meaning the businesses around town that have an interest in the local development community. Also, for the first time in Indy Hacker Holiday Social history, we are going to try and give back a little to those less fortunate.I'm a "home for hackers"...

Hiring a Developer?
The single best way to hire a developer, is by being connected to the community. If we know you, and how awesome your mission is, how incredible you work environment is, and how much love you have for the community at large, I guarantee you we will think of you first when we are looking for our next adventure.
-
Increase Awareness of your Company?
Sometimes it isn't about recruiting...sometimes you are just proud of what you are doing, and want others in the tech world to be more aware of it. This is a great opportunity to show us what you have cooking!
-
Just want to support Local Developer Community?
We all know what the world thinks of "West Coast Engineers" and "East Coast Coders"...well, we are incredibly proud of what we are doing right here in the mighty MidWest. If you want to help us showcase that, supporting events like this goes a long way towards that goal.
For more information on how to become a sponsor, check out the Sponsorship PDF and/or just e-mail us! Absolutely all sponsor money goes toward the event.

Want to do more with IndyHackers?
This is all acomplished because a few folks really love the local community, and wanted a way to bring it together. Do you have ideas about how we can make this better? We would love to talk to you! Come chat with us on the Indy Hackers Flowdock flow
-
Help other folks have a good holiday?
As much as we love giving back by bringing all of this amazing talent together...we also know that this is an incredible opportunity to give back to those less fortunate as well. This year we'll be matching donations given at the event to Second Helpings, an Indianapolis based charity that repurposes unused restaurant food, delivers meals to those in need, and provide culinary training to disadvantaged adults.
Want to give early? Contribute at our campaign site, and help us help others.
-
Want to startup a new meetup?
This is the perfect time to start up a group of hackers that may be feeling alone...if you have an idea for a new meetup, but just do not know how to get it started, come talk with us...we have been running local meetups for years, and can help point you in the right direction, and maybe even jump start membership by announcing it at this year's holiday social.
